# Sign-in and passkeys

> Sign in, use Face ID or a fingerprint instead of a password, change your password, and sign out.

## Your first sign-in

Accounts are invite-only, so you can't sign up yourself. Your invite email has your sign-in email and a temporary password. After your first sign-in, you choose a new password. You stay signed in for 30 days.

You sign in at your app, `app.D`. If you connected your own domain, the backup address `app.yourname.ownsite.me` works too, with the same account.

## Account settings

Open **Account**:

| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Email** | The email you sign in with |
| **Face ID / fingerprint sign-in** | Press **Turn on**, and you never need your password again. On a new device, press **Add on a new device**. Devices on the same Apple or Google account sync automatically. You can remove a device at any time, and password sign-in still works. |
| **Change password** | Ownsite emails you a code, then you choose a new password |
| **Sign out** | Signs out of this browser only |

> **Tip:** Forgot your password? On the sign-in page, press **Forgot your password?** and reset it with a code sent to your email.

To see the devices you already set up, you may need to sign in again first.

## Opening links in WeChat

If the sign-in page won't open inside WeChat, press **···** at the top right and choose **Open in browser**.
