## How it counts

Ownsite counts from the server's own access logs. There is no tracking code on your pages, no cookies, and no record of who visited.

| Term | Means |
|---|---|
| A **view** | Someone opened one page of your site: your home page, blog, a post or another page. Images and other files don't count, and neither do search engines and bots. |
| A **visitor** | One browser on one device in one day. If the same person comes back the next day, they count again. |

Only your site's own addresses count (D and `yourname.ownsite.me`). Opening your app doesn't.

Today's numbers update about every 10 minutes. Earlier days don't change once they are counted.
