AI permissions

Markdown

One setting that decides what every AI may do on your site, including Ownsite AI.

AI permissions is one set of rules for every AI: the ChatGPT, Claude or Kiro you connect, and Ownsite AI in your app. You don't choose again for each new AI. The sign-in page simply shows these rules.

#Three parts

Each part changes with one tap and saves right away (you see Saved at the top right).

Part Choices
Home (and your other pages) Off · Read only · Can change, asks before publishing · Everything
Blog Off · Read only · Can change, asks before publishing · Everything
Journal Off · Read only · Can write

Can change, asks before publishing means an AI can make new versions and new pages, write drafts, and change categories and the blog's look. Anything that changes what visitors see, like publishing a version, turning a page off, or publishing or unpublishing a post, waits for your confirmation. See Confirming AI actions. Everything means it doesn't ask.

For the journal, the most an AI can get is Can write: it can read and write, but never delete an entry.

Journal Off

#Changes apply at once

Changes apply right away, even to an AI that is already connected. You never need to reconnect. For example, set the journal back to Off, and the AI cannot read it the next time it tries.

#One AI at a time

Below the settings is the list of connected AIs, including Ownsite AI, with when each was last used. Press ··· next to one:

  • Own settings: give this AI less than the rest, for example "Claude: blog read only". An AI's own settings can only be lower than the general ones, never higher. Choose Follow site settings to go back.
  • Disconnect: it can no longer touch your site, starting now.
